SUMMER CAMPS
Summer at the Barn!
Nothing is better than summer at the barn! We are excited to have multi-day camps this summer in addition to our single class options. This year, we are offering 4-day camps for Little Wranglers - Intermediate Riders.
Little Wranglers 4-Day Camp: July 7 - 10, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Our Little Wrangler 4-Day Camp for kids ages 4 - 7 helps ensure that first horse experiences are safe and positive! Kids will learn foundational riding skills with one-on-one instruction both in the arena and on daily trail rides. Unmounted horsemanship instruction will include handling skills, grooming, horse care and fun activities such as bathing, painting a horse and obstacle courses.
Beginning Riding and Horsemanship 4-Day Camp: July 21 - 24, 9:00am - 3:00pm
Beginning Riding and Horsemanship is for youth ages 8+ who are new to riding lessons or are in their early stages of riding independently. Beginning riding focuses on learning how to independently control horses at the walk and trot. Unmounted horsemanship includes learning the basics about care-taking, tacking up, and on-ground control through fun games and activities.
Early Intermediate / Intermediate 4-Day Camp: August 11 - 14, 9:00am - 3:00pm
The Early Intermediate / Intermediate 4-day camp will integrate working on form in the trot, in both Western and English riding, including trotting figures and executing level appropriate patterns. More advanced students will focus on introducing and advancing loping, lateral movements, improving seat and hands, and improved control while expanding the number of horses they can control through all three gaits. The un-mounted portion focuses on more independent care-taking and handling skills, including being able to fully care for a horse on the basic level. **Instructor approval required to enroll for this class unless already riding at this level at Sande School of Horsemanship**
Our single class options are available for all levels, Little Wranglers through Level 4. These classes incorporate both riding and un-mounted horsemanship activities for students and can be taken alone or in conjunction with a 4-day camp.
